Ballistix 2x2 Owners check - Page 2

This seems to be common with the new single sided ballistix. Hopefully they will do something about it, I love my double side tracers. If they die it will be a terrible day for me.

You might as well switch to G.Skill.

It's painful to think about, switching from Crucial to G-Skill. It's even MORE painful to think about getting the RMA (it's been over a month, no refund) and not being able to use my Crucial with my new G-Skill if I do switch. A sad, sad waste, that would be. Unless... Some G-Skill uses micron D9's as well, what are the chances of major OC'ing difficulties mixing the two brands?

I confirmed this afternoon that a stick of 1GB PC6400 Ballistix bought the farm in my buddy's machine. I used (up until today) 4x1 PC6400 Tracers with no issues at all. I sold him my memory because he was in a jam and ordered the new 2x2 kit. Super.

@BlackLotus G.Skills memories seem to be doing good - Many are getting results around the same as what I got on my Ballistix 2x2GB set, but nobody complains about them dieing in a few months.

@MNiceGuy, What? I can't make sense of what you just said.

Sorry...

I just sold off my 4x1 double-sided Tracers and ordered a 2x2 Ballistix set. It would suck if the new ones were flaky because the old ones were rock-solid even after my noobish overclocking experiments.

So were I to get some G-Skills instead, say matching 1066's, how much of an impact on OCing would having 2x G-Skill in with 2x Ballistix when i get them back from RMA have? Kills me to see the Crucial go to waste after i get them back from RMA, but if having 2 different brands in at the same time mutilates my OC, then there's nothing that can be done I guess.

i've had 4x1 ddr-1000 sticks running at the listed speeds for 7-8 months now with no problems sofar. But these are the old 1gb dual sided modules

if i could, i would run them at 2.2 but the next step up is 2.25 and i don't want to ruin my warranty
