Kills me to see the Crucial go to waste after i get them back from RMA, but if having 2 different brands in at the same time mutilates my OC, then there's nothing that can be done I guess.
test each kit individually, test and bench to see what each can do, stable.

Then use some common sense, use OC settings that both can handle, then it theoretically should work. Mind you, More NB voltage might be needed for running 4 DIMMS but thats how I did things with two 2x2 sets

Roger that. I'm pretty confident my P965-S Dark can handle 4x dimms, so I'm not too worried about my NB not keeping up, I'm just worried about the minute differences between the brands, as I know for a fact the Crucials I got this time aren not D9's T_T and the G-Skills will also be something completely different, I'm sure. But I'll do as you say, make sure each set will hit my target clocks (which is under 1066 anyway), tighten the timings on each, and use the lowest common denominator. Thanks for the input =) Any specific G-Skill set anyone has tried and can recommend? Looking at these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231172
and this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231144

The second set costs less, has decent reviews, but uses 2.2v instead of 2.1, not sure if there'd be much difference though.

Just curious, are these below the single sided ones?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146565

That's the set I have and was thinking about picking up another 2x1 kit, but if they die THAT often... dang!
