Folklore is the only RPG worth mentioning at this time. Secondly and to tie in with the first reason they had more developer support. Next, they fell back on their promises. Everything from promised features to keeping backwards compatibility. Lastly, Sony has gone backwards with their hardware. Seriously, they went from technically superior models of 60GB and 20GB models to 80GB and then finally a 40GB model that has even less tech. features and no backwards compatibility. For a company that still supports PS2 (which in some areas still outsells PS3) why would they decide not to support PS2 games? Kind of makes it hard for PS2 owners to justify an upgrade.
I can't say Microsoft didn't screw up their hardware with the initial heatsinks/motherboards they chose for their system, but at least they are willing to fix it and keep the games coming.
All that said I think this console generation is purely a transition to the next generation of which in my prediction will see some major overhauls and higher standards for those who wish to stay in the game.
My main reason with not buying a PS3 and a 360 instead was purely cause of Sony's attitude. Especially when they said even if it didn't play games, loads of people will still buy it at the the 600 dollar price tag when released. Whether it is true or not, companies shouldn't act so cokcy. then the whole there shouldn't be more then one sku bit they gave the press and then they turn around and have 4 different skus now.Couple that with the fact that they claimed BC was onee of the biggest advantages they had over MS. Well it was an advantage but now MS can actually say i has a bigger BC library then post 20/60/80gig models. Since those aren't being made anymore, current retail ps3 offer no BC
A company claims it superior for not doing something the competition is doing, but then turns around and does the same exact thing.
That and 360 had more attractive games(minus halo, i find halo boring), to me the ps2 is a socom machine since that was the one game i truely most enjoyed.
