Good Temps For A Q6600? - Page 2

My GO hits its highest stable clock with stock BIOS settings @ 3.2Ghz.
It has a 1.30 VID but runs a rock solid 3.2 with 1.25v core.
Been able to hit 3.8Ghz @ 1.45v, but with 90ºF weather 3.2 works fine ATM.

reason i ask is because my q6600 has a vid voltage of 1.23v... havent really pushed it to its limits.. using the lowest voltage possible @ stock speed

Yeah stop teasing...my dual core idles at that when overclocked. I just picked up a Q6600, but I don't think I'll let it run stock for very long.

I'm thinking I'll lap it before I even put it in...
Ahh im glad you posted martin, Im at work right now, when i get home i too am going to lap it and ill post results, im hoping it will decrease the difference in all 4 core temps..Also martin with your testing you know how restrictive the EK Supreme is, and how weak the DB1 pump is for such a block, even yet i think the temps are ok, how much better do you reckon they will be with a DDC ultra or D5 vario??

Good to see your keeping with the DFI's

Have fun with that kit. Should make for some great overclocking
Oh yes mate, for me its DFI or nothing..this has much more options that my Ultra D, voltage setting alone there is so much to do, i love having so many options. Under my next watercooling upgrade, im aiming for 3.8ghz!

Thanks dam good for a VID like that, just proves VID isnt the be all end all deciding factor of overclocks, nice overclock there.

I haven't lapped mine yet either. With dual heater cores, D5 Vario and Fuzion v1 my idle temps @ 22ºC ambient room are:

I loved my Ultra-D but I love this more

The bios is fairly similar apart from the extra features so it made it a lot easier for me to overclock.

Also got to love the Easy CMOS clear Turn the pc off. Hold the reset and power button down at the same time for five seconds. Then turn it on. Saved me opening the case on a few occasions

Hell yea i still love my Ultra D and having that mobo makes using any dfi bios a piece of pie. But i did not know about the cmos reset thing..ZOMG that makes things 10 times easier. Mine is running on the desk right now so i dont have to worry about taking of side panels but still, not having to fiddle with that tinny jumper makes lifes that much easier...thanks for telling me man, i had no idea. +1
