How do I get this working?

Well I've got this SCSI drive laying around you see:

And I've never really gotten around to figuring out how it works. I've heard that these drives are supposed to be quite fast and wondering if I can get it working in my computer somehow? I've read up and found that I need a controller card in order to get it working , but I looked on The Egg and saw that they were hundreds of dollars! I'm wondering if I'm just looking at some really expensive, premium cards or if they are all this much.

Here's a close up of the specs:

Any way I can get this thing working on the cheap (less than $50)?

Why are they so much? This drive was made in 2001, shouldn't 7 year old technology be cheap? Maybe I'll look around on ebay for a while.

EDIT:
Couldn't I just get something like this? A lot less than what they are on Newegg.

You want to make sure that you get a card compatible with it - not all SCSI is the same.

That card needs an Ultra3 interface, so you need to find a card compatible with it (at least 160MB/s). The card you linked to on ebay is probably Ultra2, and will only give you a transfer rate of 40MB/s.

And the reason that this old technology is still somewhat pricey is because 99% of the market for them is from bigger corporations who don't upgrade until it becomes profitable to.

So Ultra3 SCSI has a 160MB/s limit? My current SATA drive is running at about 179MB/s (says HDTach), does that mean this SCSI drive would actually be slower than what I'm running now?
