I had a viewsonic with a p-mva panel, it had amazing colors, extremely good backlight uniformity, and black blacks. Very easy on the eyes. Unfortunately it also had built in motion blur. It claimed a spec of 8ms so I can see a possible problem depending on a person's sensitvity.

I can't say either way with this specific monitor; the meaning of response time ratings varys from panel to panel. Just a caution though. Probably amazing for movies as mentioned above. ^^^

Killer deal either way. I just snagged a Samsung 220WM for $200 so I am cool. I don't want 1920x1200 because it will choke out my GPU hard. 1680x1050 is fine for now.

The ghosting shouldn't be a problem unless you play a lot of FPS everyday. The benefits of a 1920x1200 desktop are amazing, it's so much room. Every time I come back to my 22" at home I feel cramped.

Cool! I just placed an order for one of these... +1 rep for you sir! Funny thing is, they are here in San Diego where I live and I can drive like 20 miles to pick it up ... Saved me a bunch on shipping. I am going tomorrow to pick this thing up for $223 after tax... $223 for a 24" is incredible in my book, you can't find anything 24" for less than like 350 minimum. As long as it slightly better than mediocre, I'll be happy.

Good deal except the Bezel is ugly. And I admit that I like my stuff to look good, the Soyo looks like a toy from McDonalds.

Mr Reeves, my good sir, please post back on the wuality of this piece of equipment, if it's not too much trouble. I play a decent amount of fps, mmo's, and watch movies, but if the ghosting is very minor compared to the benefits, I'd be interested very much.

http://www.thinkcomputers.org/index....reviews&id=733

here is a review of it... they give it positive remarks... the only thing is that they say it's a 3ms monitor even though on the box picture they post with the review it says 6ms like the geek.com website and picture there. So I'm not sure if they reviewed the 6ms one and mistook it for a 3ms or if they just used generic pictures but the 3ms model. Well... 6 or 3ms I'm buying this! The prices seem to match they say about 300 bucks in the review, this one being refurbed for 199 seems about the same...

Indeed, I'm seeing a lot of positive reviews from many sources. BUT, you may want to have a look at this thread before you spring for the refurbished: http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...VIEWTMP=Linear

This gives some background on this monitor. supposedly there is indeed two versions. One is 6ms, and is P-MVA panel, the other is 3ms and is TN panel. Apparently the TN panel has issues with overheating, stuck pix, and other issues, but was made before dec. 07(?), and the ones after that were the P-MVA panels and ran cool, smooth, and had much better viewing area. So check it out, the deal we're looking at here may be a TN model with issues, and I'd hate to bank on a 90-day warranty and possibly no way to return it if it's TN =/ Still, if it is a TN and Geeks labelled it wrong, you get a 24" 3ms, which still isn't that bad I guess. Just beware the heat. But again, if you get it, let me know how it is! =D
