Quad Core B3!!!! 3.2ghz! feedbacks - Page 2

That is a decent air cooled OC on a B3. A GO would get you 3.5GHz maybe with the same temps. Not worth upgrading to another Q just for that in my opinion.

The thermal limit on the B3's is 62c. I have 2 of them folding 24/7, running anywhere from 67c to 75c. I have been running them for 3 months straight. I'm more interested in seeing if all this thermal limit talk is just talk. There is alot debate on the whole temp issue. So, I'm doing my testing on these B3's.

You know I wanted to try that myself but just couldn't bring myself to do it (No Big Brass ones here). I'm glad your testing it out Gib and hope I catch the results on that one. Folding 24/7 at those temps is the best test there is.

The VID means nothing..

It dosent determine how much volts the chip will take to get to a certain overclock.

But GENERALLY a higher VID means more volts to get to a higher clock than say, another CPU with a lower VID to get the exact same speed.

that's a pretty good overlock for B3. Although im considering that the B3 vs G0 might not be as pronounced as it first was. Since i cannot get mine pas 3.5 (G0) but B3 users can get to 3.2 with 1.38 volts. Took me 1.4 to get there, and my stepping is supposed to be better. Grrrr.

but seriously, good job!
