Thread Starter
well i thought i was getting a lot of money for my b-day but im not.
i was gonna get the evga 750i ftw but the price is now a lil high.

pretty much right now i have a P4 that i want to overclock as much as possible

i will eventually get a e8400 or a q6600 and also will SLI.

anyone got a good board in mind for overclocking but can upgrade for the future?(it doesnt have to be SLI)

Welcome to the forums.

As for ocing pretty much the best is P35 for straight ocing. You can get them relativley cheap like the gigabyte board or go for the best and get the abit IP35pro or the dfi DK. However they dont do sli.

Unfortinatly the only ones that do sli are the nvidia chipsets. 750/780/790 but they arent the highest ocing boards but still do ok. Not sure about these as far as what to recommend as I dont use sli and dont use nvidia boards.

The X48 has crossfire and is suppose to oc pretty good but is pricey and the same with the x45 or whatever it is that is coming out but I dont know about that yet.

IMHO I would go P35 for now and not worry about sli. Just get a good card and later on if you wanna upgrade sell it and get a new good card. With the P35 you will be able to max out your oc as well. This will be your cheapest option.
