Hello

i would to thank all Members of this great forum.

I have Q6600 2.4GHz I would like to overclock it to 3.2GHz and temperature of the processor 28-30c on idle and 48c on load with Prime95 and room temperature = 23-24c.

Any suggestions ?

Regards

Put the fsb to 333 and see where that gets you.

Try going up by small increments on the FSB - make sure you are not clocking your RAM or tighten its timings - check stability with Prime95 and never exceed 1.5v or 70 C on your CPU. CoreTemp and CPU-Z are two more programs that will help.

set it to 1.35v on the cpu and leave everything else on auto and go right for it shouldnt take much more than that

Thanks for the reply.

Will it be that simple .. I am surprised

Is there a difference between GA-x38-DQ6 and others mobos ?

Because I read in more than a forums there are many steps to the success the Oc.

Any suggestions ?

Hm, you should be able to lower your voltages. Right now I have my Q6600 overclocked at 3.4GHz and vcore is running at 1.328; it's not 100% stable, but it ran Small FFTs in Prime95 for 11 hours. You should also look for a vdroop mod for your motherboard. I did it to my motherboard yesterday and it helps a lot.

Hello. You might be able to reduce (G)MCH & FSB OverVoltage to auto if youre remaining at 3.0ghz. I found my DQ5 gets to 3.2ghz and then fails memtests. Needing FSB volts.

At the moment I am at 3.3ghz, and I have the same voltages on my (G)MCH & FSB volts as you have at 3.0ghz.

All set ups are unique, but might help.
