That's not entirely true. With the use of motion blur (as in motion pictures), video becomes fluid to most people at around 18FPS. With the lack of motion blur (like in video games), a lot of people are actually capable of noticing differences at around 30-40 frames per second or even 100 or more. It depends on quite a few factors, and there is no real set amount. The differences can sometimes be subtle but ultimately noticeable. It varies quite a bit depending on the circumstances.

true but for a playable game the 25fps is enough ... lets say u just move forward in the game ... at 25 its all smooth but when u suddenly move to the right thoes 25 picture dont fill in every angle of ur move .. as 50+ would (that in COD4)
lets take crysis ... at 18 fps ... u clearly see a slowdown even if u stay or move slowly but at about 25 ... it runs like u have about 40fps in comparison to COD4

Quad scaling will never be perfect.

Also... I've been playing every new game at 10-15 fps and i got used to it.

I would any day play a game at 25fps and not higer but the fps never to drop below that. I play COD4 at 20-25 when i max it and it is still very palyable.

a lot depends on the game as to whats playable. many times those games that use motion blur make it a little easier to play at lower frame rates. kind of Tv here in the states at what 30fps yet it is hardly noticable. yet some video games at 30fps are very laggy being they use good hard edges.

Wrong on so many levels.. even 15FPS is playable.
It's playable, but it sucks. I've tolerated ~28FPS average before, but it really sucked. Certain games run perfectly fine at 30FPS, but others (like Audio-Surf) seem to lag even at 30FPS, but improve at 45FPS.

That is simply subjective, and a matter of preference.

That's my biggest point. You may likely still see differences (even if it's a lot or just a little; to you or someone else), but it's simply a matter of preference whether or not it's "playable" for a specific person.
