And kpo keep your petty insults to yourself, I wasn't being rude to him in any way. Slick if you took that as me being rude, I apologize.
1. Sorry if I came across as petty, but trashing something unjustly I took offense to.

2. Slick, only XPS 710-720 can overclock the cpu.
The new XPS 630 I believe can also.

Yea I want to build my own PC one day definitely but this XPS 420 is one sexy looking computer I have to admit it's really attractive. I really just want to be able to get a good experience nothing over the top cause it will be used for other things like web, word processing, printing, music etc... but I want to get a good gaming catch to it also if I can get away with just upgrading my video card that would be awesome. I really like the 8800GT what do you guys think?

So your saying if I installed a 8800GT into this PC I would be safe from any malfunctions or overheating my PSU won't go on me...you know just being cautious, the new 8800GT stock looks like the best card out for the money I found one for $159 on tigerdirect.com thanks for all your time.

OK, last question...Do you think with my stock CPU Quad Core 2.4GHZ and a Stock 8800GT 512MB no overclocking and a 375W PSU with 30AMP MAX I would get compared to a Xbox 360 better, worse, same...???

Dell SELLS the nVidea GeForce 8800GT factory installed in the XPS-420 with the 375 watt PS. I own one. I don't have a quad core CPU, but they offer lots of quad CPU's in this configuration. (I got the 3 GHz "Penryn" core 2 duo.) I've since added a second hard drive with no issues. I don't use it for gaming, but this video card doesn't even get warm in mine. The BTA motherboard design is terrific for cooling. Everything inside is cool to the touch. It has a cooling fan intended to cool the cards. It's mounted in the bottom front corner, right next to the upside down hard drive(s). So it cools the hard drive(s) too.

I would personally love to find out how to "unlock" the BIOS, because if you order this model with an "Extreme" CPU, the BIOS comes with "Advanced" settings for overclocking! But I can't get to it. But since my particular CPU is known to be very overclockable, I wish I could. My guess is that the BIOS is the same, only requiring some kind of "code" to unlock. But that's a guess.

IT WILL BE FINE.

I ran a WAY overclocked 8800GTS512 with a WAY overclocked Q6600 on a PSU that had nearly the exact same specs with no problems whatsoever.

That PSU is plenty to run such a rig 100% safely, and even overclock with, especially running in an A/C'd environment with good case airflow.

The graphics such a rig will be capable of will be, in general (depends on the game and the settings, of course), considerably better than what you can get on a xbox 360.

BTW, to the OP ... how much power your PSU puts out doesn't affect your graphics quality. Either you have ENOUGH juice to power your system, and every thing runs at 100%, or you DON'T have enough juice to power your system, in which case, it will crash during times of 'stress', or even not start up (but that's very, very rare).

The 8800GT is awesome but if you can afford another $50, the 4850 pretty much leaves it in the dust. And I'm sure will work fine with your PSU as well.
