Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Florida etc.. Don't have a winter. These ants are smaller then fire ants, and bite. I would rather have fire ants hangin around. They're larger (less could hurt you at one time) and don't eat your computer or other electronics. Though the trade off is, fire ants hurt more when they attack.
I'd rather save my computer, bigscreen, xbox and other related componets and get a bigger bite then lose $10,000 in electronics.
Actually, considering how little these little buggers are, It'd be much easier for them to slip in anywhere and bite you 5-7x more in the same space/time as a fire ant. I believe this news article is trying to capitalize on the "killer bees" fear mongoring. Most news here in the US does.
