I would so do this if i could. But there's no way i'm gathering up some fireants to take to a colony of those raspberry ants. However... two giant ant farms? Connected, yet with a separating barrier than can be later destroyed?

Wouldn't surrounding your home with boric acid, keep the little buggers at bay. I know it was one of the best things against them damn German ****roaches. Those were some tough little buggers.

"There's only one man who would dare give me the rasberry (ants) LONE STAR!" Well i hope they don't make it here to AZ. Other wise I'm gonna have to build a moat around my rig. I don't have problems with ants now but I've got few scorpions running around and it's the big harry mothers too. You know the kind some sick twisted person encases in plastic paper weights and thinks it's cool to have on your desk at work.

They eat fireants......Godsend IMO.....however keep them AWAY from my PC!
From what I gather they're attracted to heat, so they nest in the PC. I've seen a pic of a snake stuck in a PSU......it got in there and was FRIED.

Scorpions are crazy man.....I saw them often when I lived in Houston, but I've never seen one in Arkansas. We have killer mosquitos in the Mississippi Delta portion of the state (just moved here 4 years ago.)

Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Florida etc.. Don't have a winter. These ants are smaller then fire ants, and bite. I would rather have fire ants hangin around. They're larger (less could hurt you at one time) and don't eat your computer or other electronics. Though the trade off is, fire ants hurt more when they attack.

I'd rather save my computer, bigscreen, xbox and other related componets and get a bigger bite then lose $10,000 in electronics.

Actually, considering how little these little buggers are, It'd be much easier for them to slip in anywhere and bite you 5-7x more in the same space/time as a fire ant. I believe this news article is trying to capitalize on the "killer bees" fear mongoring. Most news here in the US does.

holy god!

These things evolved from other ants, I'm guessing?

Kinda like the bacteria that eats only nylon, when nylon was invented in the '30s.

We do have a winter! it gets to about.. 40 degrees? haha. Not very cold and I think we got about 5 freezes this last winter. But so long as they don't mess with my rig when i'm gone over the summer i don't really care.
