getting pissed as ASUS

Thread Starter
some of you may recall me asking for help about my computer about 3-4 weeks ago. I was updating my BIOS after installing a Q9300 in my Maximus Formula SE MB when my system crashed and corrupted my bios chip. I called ASUS and they told me to RMA the board. I sent it to em and it arrived on the 1st of may. ASUS told me in the email that the rma may take up to 10 business days. I called them tuesday of this week and asked why my MB wasnt here yet [it was still "repairing" on the internet checker thing]. they told me that they were going to just send me a new motherboard [excluding why my old one was dead] and that they would send me an email from FedEx with a tracking ID for the MB within 48 hours.

which now brings me to my question:

why the F*CK isnt ASUS holding up to their end of the bargain?! I'm so freaking pissed that on monday, when the RMA department opens up again [what kind of company has a customer service/RMA department thats closed on weekends?!], I'm tempted to tell them that I'm going to just buy a new MB off newegg and that they can front the bill because I'm so crippled without my PC. its not the lack of videogames thats killing me, its all the school related assignments I've had to redo because of this bull [my HD is SATA and there isnt another SATA compatible pc in the house]. trust me, the last thing I wanted to do these past three weeks is beg for time off from work so that I can hit up the public library or use my little brothers computer to redo a 6 page research paper that I was almost done with in the first place.

Is the ASUS RMA department this disappointing to everyone else?

PS if this is worng place to post this, please relocate it and let me know that I'm a dumass.

Venting Complete. man I feel better =P

Next time ask for an X-ship (advance) RMA. They'll send you a new board immediately, and you'll just have to ship yours back in during the next 7-10 days (cant remember which). They'll charge your CC for the new board, but refund all of it when they receive yours. Ive been pretty happy with RMAs through them, X-ship or not.

I Hate ASUS RMA's i won't ever buy a ASUS board due to how they screwed me over. I sent in my board for a RMA and they sent me back another broken board twice.

They said 10 business days and have been just over - RMAs tend to take slightly longer.

Why didn't you just pick up a cheap SATA HDD box for $10 off Newegg?

they said 10 business days, then after 11 business days [when I called them] they said 48 hours for either the tracking number or an update for whats going on [on tuesday of this past week].

asus has always been amazing for me

ive tried other boards, msi ecs evga, and they all failed quite quickly while all my asus boards are still running.

never had to deal with customer service.
