Age of Conan Performance?

Thread Starter
Can people post their Age of Conan performance, retail performance only please.

I don't have early access and was just wondering if my sig rig is going to be able to completely max it with DX10/SM3.0 effects along with some AA/AF.

Yes, your sig will do fine (1920x1200). The game is oblivion equivalent. But for some reason I can't select DX10. Only DX9 is available inside video option

Odd. You have retail I assume?

Its right below DX9 for me in the ingame menus, however I can't sign in yet.

I got 60+ FPS in oblivion without any mods at all times, hopefully thats the case here... 16x MSAA and 16x AF.

The main thing i'm worried about is DX10 performance. My friend who has a 8800GT/Q6600/2GB ram said he could come "close" to maxing it at 1920x1200 but couldn't do AA/AF and left some settings on default... and ran at about 20-30FPS.

Everquest 2 is 3 years old and I still cannot max it.

Some MMOs take alot of power because they design them for the future. I just hope SLI scales well in this game.

Pretty dang good for a MMO

EQ2 (which i used to play too until like 3 months ago) uses the CPU for 99% of its graphics. THATS why you can't max it. It lets your video card rot away doing almost nothing. And CPUs just dont have the same power GPUs do in that respect.

I run max settings but at 1024x1028

AA AF EVERYTHING maxed with steady 30 fps no dips, and I havent OCed anything yet.

Youll be fine, dont worry

And dont compare it to Oblivion for max settings, this demands alot more

Don't confuse bad performance with good graphics. There are simply bad developers out there who throw away resources like trash. A good developer can develop the same graphical capability with 5 times the performance of a bad developer without breaking a sweat.

Good example, doom3. That easily still matches some games coming out today in graphics still, and it was running on computers that couldn't even handle half-life 2.

The more and more I read/see about AoC the more n more I get excited about it. I'm upgrading my comp 1/2 to play this and 1/2 because my old PC was circa 2003.

Now I wait. Wait for parts to be shipped and opening day.
