GeForce 8400M G (dxdiag says 880MB.. 128 External?), with laptopvideo2go's unofficial drivers.
Vista Home Premium, 32 bit with SP1
Running on DX10.
Everything is above the minimum requirements.
I run the game on very minimal settings, fullscreen, 1024x768, with 4 total processes running, AoC on Realtime priority, and forced 100% minimum processor state via power options. The fan output gets warm, but not hot.
I get 15 FPS, max. If I lower the settings even more so that players are blurry and the ground doesn't ever smooth out, I get 18 FPS.
Is this all just because it's a LAPTOP?
Like, if I built an equivalent rig with the same processor, card, RAM, would it run better?
Should I downgrade to XP?
I personally think its because of your video driver. At the resolution you are playing, CPU and RAM won't matter too much. You should be able to get at least 30 FPS. You might what to try the official driver to see if it helps. dx10 for this game is not supported yet... They are going to "enable" it in the near future.
Ok this is what I am running on for this "game"
Q6600 @ 3.24GHz
8GB RAM 951Mhz
XFX 8800GTX (single)
Every setting on MAX (AA, viewing distance, texture and etc)
My FPS in game is 75 on average for Torage region. If I set the resolution to1920x1200, FPS drops to 35~45.
