Should i get the TRUE, Tuniq Tower or OCZ Vendetta 2? I am going to be using a Q6700. If I get the TRUE then what fan(s) should I put along with it? Thanks!

TRUE is better choice. Kaze fans I heard work nice.

I've been trying to decide the same thing for the last few days, I decided on the Vendetta 2 since it's cheaper and i've read many places that the TRUE really needs to be lapped ;l I just couldn't be bothered ordering the lapping kit etc then hours lapping..

Heres a good kit though

Yeah that is the only thing holding me back. I really don't feel like lapping it as soon as I get it. Seeing as how I want to get this rig finished as soon as possible and if I have time later to lap it. So which hsf is best right out of the box?

The Vendetta 2. TRUE needs lap for max benefit (thats why I didn't get one).

AlphaDog11790 - It's clearly not an easy choice, as these are all great coolers. You should not expect a heavy difference between them, and both could be modified to improve performance. I would consider two factors in your choice:
1 - How much room do you have? The Tuniq is an oversized beast, and you might need a big case to put in on a X38 or X48 board (since the cpu socket has moved north a lot). Also, it may or may not sit well with ram fans, etc. Just be very certain before you order.

2 - Noise levels. I guess you got this one. The Vendetta 2's fan is great because it's PWM and you don't need to fiddle with a controller. It's also quieter than the Tuniq's. But if you switch them out anyway, this won't matter.

My bias: I have an exposed heatpipe cooler and have a Vendetta 2 on order.

Check this thread, which is a discussion (sometimes informed sometimes not) of the two:

Thanks Rob! That was a heck of a first post haha. I am leaning towards the Vendetta 2. I am using a TT armor w/ the 25cm fan moved to the outside so I should not have any fitting problems.

AlphaDog11790-
I've been working on this same issue, so I was happy you opened up a thread about it. You can see what I'm concerned with:

Get the vendetta I have researched both coolers online and out of 4 websites that test heatsinks, vendetta/xigmatek----think thats how its spelled got first place everytime. TRUE was about 5th place or so. Vendetta is also cheaper, and the xigmatek version that vendetta copied off of is even cheaper and basically the exact same in every way.

The Vendetta 2 is much better at stock than the TRUE. I would bet its still better than a lapped TRUE. Also, its about $20 cheaper than a TRUE + a fan.
