Noctua NF-P12 impressions. Holy crap! - Page 4

So what's the best place to get these things? I see them at some places for like $30 a piece (or 3 for 60), but I probably only need a single P and like 2-3 S.

If anyone has some good links for them, post em up!

Thanks... yeah, I saw it cheap some places, but I wanted to be sure I could trust them. They are on sale atm there, but out of stock!

Ok, I poked around noctua's site, and found some authorized retailers.

For anyone wondering where to get them, Frozen CPU carries them.

I was about to buy some P and S's...but then I realized, I have a p182 so my top fan is horizontal, as well as my cpu cooler fan...I know most fans don't like being mounted horizontally, and I definitely don't want to drop the extra on such a nice fan if I'm only going to ruin it. Does anyone have experience with mounting this horizontally?

Man, these things are sweet. Now the top fan on my antec 900 (on low) is the loudest thing in my system! Maybe I'll do some tests to see if the temps all die if I turn it off, but seeing as I don't have much else for exhaust (except a single noctua) I think they probably will

Could be the power supply too, on second thought. Though apparently this PSU is pretty quiet when it's not pumping out many watts, so maybe not. I only really care about idle volumes

EDIT: 5x noctuas (haven't switched to the low noise cables yet, doesn't make enough difference at the moment), Ultra Kaze, but set to sit at ~30% speed until the CPU breaches 43C (pretty rare except when gaming and other stuff that allows me to use headphones and listen to something to tune it out), graphics card set to a constant 34% (stays cool, can't hear a difference between this and anything lower; yet).
