XP does not support tri-sli or dual quads.

an 8800gts 512mb is faster than a 9600gt and given that the gx2 is a pair of 8800gts cores slightly downclocked, it makes sense that it would be faster.

also bear in mind that the memory on your video card adds towards the total count for the system in a 32 bit os (making 4 gb of ram pointless)

Mhill a member here is selling his pair of GX2's.

He has had nothing but problems with them and virtually no performance increase.

Tri-sli works a little better than 2xGX2's do but you still need vista and a supported board.

to whomever posted earlier about 780i/790i not supporting tri-sli properly as a result of bios? they are misinformed.

the 780i boards have some limitations as a result of the pci-e 2.0 controller being a separate chip.

the 790i boards have an integrated pci-e 2.0 chip and run tri-sli without issue.

QUOTE]mines are working like champs also I dont have a clue on how to tell fps during game play so I cant decide on that, but in vantage my fps went from say 40 fps to 100 fps.

Another weird thing is while playing crysis online, It plays allot smoother then with the 9600s and I am able to kill more people easier for some weird reasons lol

Yes, mark saw an improvement in vantage as well.

And thats about it.

Of course you are also debunking the dozen or so legit reviews floating around the net as well.

The attached gif demonstrates the difference in scores on 3dmark06 between 2 9800gtx in sli and 2 gx2 in sli. The second is crysis fps.

(this is from the tweaktown review btw)

A whopping 700 point increase for a cost difference of what, about $500?

Nice! (sarcasm inserted).

I can't seem to make myself care about vantage when futuremark is going to require us to pay for it.

If you are happy with over $1000 in video cards to make crysis run a whole 5 FPS faster, then more power to you.

Edit: You have a pair of GX2's running on a 19" monitor????

These are even better for demonstrating crysis

at medium and high settings, a pair of 9800gtx actually beats the pair of gx2's...

well my 03 score went from 65k or so to 104k 04 so. crysis benchmark went from like 40 fps with dx10 to about 70 fps

how so? I said it was better then the 9600s I had and it is...

you cant afford $8? wow no wonder you wouldnt spend $1000 in video cards lol I am sorry thats the case but just remember if you try hard and persue your goals you will suceed one day and be able to buy the things you want, dont be afraid to run after the things you dream off.

40 vs 70 is not 5 fps difference...but why are you trying to convince me I made a mistake? What do you care where I spend my money? Seriously why are you worried? I never asked "hey did I make a good decisions?" then you can respond with what you have.

what it comes down to me is having the best and if the best is only 1 fps faster and and $2000 more expensive I dont really care, its just $2000 its not like im buying a second house lol but 30 fps for an extra $600 is worth it to me..

I got both my cards brand new for $800 to my door
