I think that looks pretty slick myself.

And the hole issue of your feet hitting the bracing can be fixed by making the actual desk deeper.

My desk now has a similar cross member like you've drawn, and I rarely hit it with my feet. (and a couple of times it's saved me from falling backwards out of my chair.)

Suggestions:
1. On the right. The computer will make it so that the surface is unusable since you wont be able to sit there. There will be no place for your feet.
2. You need some bracing. Check out the attached photos of my latest custom desk (its a little messy now).
3. Have you considered using a counter top as a surface? You can get plain flat ones. That is what I use for my desks. There are many advantages: they are nearly perfectly flat, good for writing on. They are easy to clean. When you polish them they look nice. There are many textures and patterns to choose from.

Just my advice. If you want more pics of my desk I can provide them.
Is the Bracing i have added Not sufficient enough?..i would really like to keep everything at a 90' angle, having a diagonal cross bar dosnt flow with my design.

You right about the placement of the computer taking up deskspace, but thats not really an issue for me,its really only taking up "writing" space,i can use that space for other stuff, and if it really becomes and issue i can make the desk a little long,so i will have more room.

a counter top could work well,if i can find a nice solid black one, arnt they kinda expensive?...one about 1/2 thick without the rounded edge would look awesome!

well i wasnt worried about hitting my feet, but somebody said rasiing it up a bit will help make it more stable.

for the pc, put MORE room around and on top of it, i think you should have 6 inches around the sides and top for optimal air flow.

Ok a New designs, since my first was flawed.

just moving the computer to the right side, and using the top as a printer table, would make the desk kinda long,i dont really like this one.

Go to the local lowes or store and look there. They are around $50 for a 6ft. As far as bracing a right angle is not going to offer enough support. You will need a trianlge to keep it from swaying from side to side. I originally built the desk without the diaginal piece but had to add it because it was swaying. With yours being taller it is going to need more bracing.

ok thanks,i need to check lowes out.

ok how about little diagonals coming off of the crossbar, like 1' into crossbar,a diagnal piece going to the corner.

I think if you took the bracing you have now and then had one diagonal you will be fine. The crossbar could probably be a 1x4in bar. Thats what I used.
