Recent memory problems

Hi everyone,
Recently (two Fridays ago) i noticed my computer started acting strange with random BSOD's . I am not getting BSOD showing first a pfn_list error, IRQ_Less_Than_Equal to or paged in a non-paged errors. Any of those errors will appear. The last two errors have shown up more often than the pfn_list error. I have not changed with my system settings in since December and my system I noticed was reset to stock values of 2.2GHZ and the memory running at 800MHz. This weekend i finally had a chance to take a look and ran the Microsoft memory diagnostic program. I had errors on the LRAND and Stride6 tests. I noticed that i cannot install windows updates and getting random errors at startup stating for example googltalk cannot access a certain address and must terminate. Is it possible for memory to just fail like this? Could a virus cause this ( somehow my databases for Kapersky are corrupt and will not update)?

Is there any other troubleshooting i can do. I am trying to not have to lift the computer up onto my desk due to a recent knee injury and crutches

I let Memtest run over night and i had just over 13000 errors. After seeing this i tested each stick and found one worked just fine and the other one produced the errors. I sent an email to GSkill to RMA it. Hope this solves the problem. One last question. If i intend to OC my system to 3GHZ will i need faster RAM or am I ok with the PC6400RAM?

Thanks for your help.

RMA was the right way to go.

You'll be fine with PC6400.

Technically, you're fine with absolutely any ram. Intel CPUs tend to run good regardless of ratio. It's all about megahertz. (So I'm told)

if that is true and this may be a separate issue but how do i know the voltage of the memory has to be increased when oc'ing?
