How to format a partition in Vista. - Page 2

I really appreciate your help 3XPeriment, but its not working for me. I can't seem to get the GUI interface to come up. I think it has to do with which file im downloading.

To save messing about simply set your BIOS to boot from CD and then boot from your Vista installation DVD. Go through the onscreen prompts until you reach the section that asks you which partition you want to install Vista onto. On this screen simply choose the format option for the partition that you want to format. Once the parition is wiped simply shut down your computer and boot back into Windows. You may need to format the partition again from within My Computer if the previous format process made it into a raw format.

I have tried this, but it does not allow me to format. I can't remember the exact error message off the top of my head.
