my 3800+ is a x2

The E2x00 series will OC to 3.0GHz easily. It should be close to your 3800+ but still a little faster.

NVm sorry. I didnt know it was single core. You may want to look into a 3.6ghz Pentium 4.

NVM you guys have missled me. Then get a Pentium D or E2xxx

They will both be overclocked to the same speeds each time.

like
3800+X2 = 2.7ghz
2x00 = 2.7ghz

are you doing this to do a benchmarking test or a comparison test for some reason? If so, your data will be skewed by many different factors.

Just get an E8400. They are getting cheaper and cheaper everyday, and their performance just kicks serious behind. =D

thank you, and i dont want charts really, lots of different factors (ram, etc) i want personal experience

this is just for benchmark tests and a little comparison.

even the E1200 (celeron Dual Core) will beat that chip.

a E2180 is $70, 2ghz, and will destroy that chip, its only $1 more than the e2160.
