Either way, you want to make sure the processor you are comparing to is a Pentium, not a celeron. Celerons have extremely little cache and much weaker FPUs than Pentiums, so any benchmarks like graphics rendering, zip file decompression, and other similar tasks will yield very poor results in comparison. A dual-core Celeron MAY be faster when it comes to other commands like hardware interrupts and stuff like that, but definately not with math. After all, due to the memory controller being on the NB not on the CPU, Intel processors are more cache dependent than AMD chips, so this does make a difference.
Yay someone that actually lists something out and explains it!

That's probably the best answer we've gotten yet. Exactly. a PD is probably gonna be the most direct comparison.

Like Manyak said, a Pentium D 840 should be a pretty good comparison.

Pentium D 840
http://www.starmicro.net/detail.aspx?ID=670

I would still think a 2100 series would be a better comparison
X2 3800 = 1mb L2 cache
Celeron = 512kb L2 cache
Pentium D = 2mb L2 cache
2100 series = 1mb L2 cache

Yep called you a moron because it took 5+ posts to describe what he was saying, even though it was described in the FIRST POST

doesn't matter your rudeness has got to stop on this forum we don't need people like that screwing a nice one up. Now quit saying stuff like that or don't say anything at all.
