Hi kmo_9000,

I don't think NCIX will match prices after a mail-in rebate, so you might want to find a different set of RAM. 1gb was fine for my HTPC, even when I played games on it, but I nLited my copy of XP to the bones. It only uses 45 megs of RAM on first boot up.

Another option instead of a wireless keyboard and mouse is a remote control. If down the road you want to turn this in to a full blown HTPC, you can buy a TV tuner card and plug your cable in to it, with some setting up it will work as a PVR. The remote the TV tuner card comes with can be used to control almost anything on the computer with a little bit of work, with the exception of typing.

imo, you dont need a dual core athlon to watch movies, you dont even need a dual core sempron, but if u want dual core then its the best choice for watching movies.

i would go with a dual core sempron, 2X 1GB (2gb) of ram, and a mobo with a 780g chipset. the onboard graphics is basically a HD 2400 pro, plenty for higher resolution movies, and games, and no, the egg doesnt ship to canada... yet
