Hey, I think I've got a copy of Windows 3.0 on 3.5" disks laying around somewhere. Maybe you can point me towards a buyer.
Those darn Windows 3.0 users who refuse to upgrade.

You make it sound like windows vista has nothing to offer. Considering your on a PC Enthusiast webpage, I would assume you couldn't benifit from the added ram it allows? Or increased security? Or in another year, directX 10?...

Yeah I know you'll justify your stickiness to XP with your own "personal" reasons. So don't bother, It's been said in every Vista vs XP post already.

Blah blah blah... Is it too hard to believe that someone just doesn't want to pay the $$$ to upgrade? I don't think I've come across one person who has admitted that. Which means what? drum roll.... go figure it out!

The RAM is only if you install the 64-bit version of Vista
There is also a 64-bit XP in case you haven't noticed

Security eh? That's what firewalls, antivirus/antispyware programs, and safe web surfing practices are for. As for DirectX10, at the rate it's being adopted, it'll take more than a year to fully replace DX9

Actually Vista adds a very great deal of security changes, quite a few that safe surfing and firewalls might not catch.

In addition drivers have been move more towards the application layer, so in say for example S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if the driver has an issue, then it just crashes the game instead of the OS, though for me it crahses and recovers a second or two later, so it looks like it just froze for a second.

Not to mention the fact that it is actually stable compared to XP, and all the other goodies, there is little reason why a good portion of OCN has made the move.

I an in no way opposing what people are entitled to, and that is what ever makes them happy. However when programmers get lazy, and begin actually holding back progress, that makes most people want to discontinue support for the older, inferior item.

Annoying...

Microsoft should not give in. People have to get used to the cyclical PC upgrading concept. If your box lasts you 3 years with not one upgrade, it has more than done its job. The PC is one of the main components of a happy life. It is worth $600-1000 every 3 years.
