New/First build...advice welcomed

My dad has an old p4 that he has been using for 6+years. He wants to upgrade to a newer computer but, he was looking at one in store for around $2,000. So instead of him buying that i told him we could build one with the same performance if not better for a lower cost. He will use the computer for some gaming mainly COD2 and COD4, and use it for work using excel and word. He would also like it to last several years down the road.
heres what i was thinking:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136038 ----motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211066 --- Ram

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037 --- CPU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318 --- video card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136076 --- hard drive

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119115 ---case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371007 --- power supply

grand total is around $774 with shipping
would to keep in $700-$800 range.

we will be reusing mouse, keyboard, optical drives, monitor, and we also have an OS.

Any comments/ suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks in advance

It's a decent enough budget build there. My only thoughts...the A-Data RAM is decent stuff, but - for about $10 more...you could pick up the Crucial Balistix Tracers...which I know everyone raves about here.

Looks good, I take it you will be using xp? if not you may want to look into getting 4Gb of ram because youll want it if you use vista.

yes we will be using Xp pro. And I don't think he has any plans to overclock the machine. We are also trying to stay away from mail-in rebates. Do not want to deal with it.

Should consider a different PSU. For $20 more, you can get a 610w PC Power and Cooling unit.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703005

I would get a Q6600\\Q9300, unless you're planning on replacing it once programs come out that make a quad really shine.

He has an 80gig in this one now and he has hardly used half of it so the extra space isn't really needed.
as for the Q6600 that was an option but, i have no clue how long it will before programs do take advantage of it.
Thanks for all the quick replies.

after looking at these suggestions here is what i have now

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136076 --- hard drive

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037 --- CPU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318 --- video card

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...=15891#moreimg ---case and PS

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136043 --- motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098 --- ram

as for 2gig vs 4gig i can't see spending the extra money right now if he is using xp. And for the PS would the one suggested by low strife be that much better. because that case combo seems like a good deal and saves about $20 than what i had before.
