I am going to use washers to raise the fan a little to make clearance for the chipset cooler. these are tight spaces. Not much thought went into designing the Tuniq as far as I can tell.

Can you guys PM each other and not let other members see your bickering cause I believe this post was to help solve a problem not create a problem within the OC.net community. And proper grammar is nice to have that way you can show that you are somewhat educated though it may be only at a highschool level.

Now back on topic. Have you considered taking the restraint off and then sanding it down so that it will be level with the CPU?

In order to get it working if it is over lapped. Just go ahead and add extra paste. Thats what I did when I overlapped my block.

It turns out the cpu is NOT overlapped. The Tuniq's FAN is hitting the motherboard's chipset cooler. There is about a millimeter difference, that's what's causing the scraping sound. I have figured out how the solve this problem...by placing a washer at the top of the Tuniq at each of the four screws to raise the fan higher. Sorry for jumping to conclusions but that was my first thought--the CPU because I lapped it.

well atleast you figured out the problem
