WEI is strange. I wouldn't take it as much of a performance indicator on higher-end systems. That's what 3DMark, PCMark, and Sandra are for.

Clevo is a good manufacturer. I like your rig. Don't bank on being able to upgrade the video though. Mine too is an older Clevo using a MXM standard. But the mobo chipset won't allow me to run anything greater than my 7950 GTX. On top of that, those with my Clevo m570u rig can't upgrade the gpu to a new7950 GTX because no one makes them anymore. Ditto for the generation pre-Jan '08: 8600 GT is the best they can do because of the mobo. To make it worse, the cooling solutions also change, so even if you can get a MXM card to fit in the slot, you'll be on your own to cool it. At best, you have about a year of upgradability before the standard changes again..... maybe less with the new chipsets hitting the market next month.
Thanks!
btw u can send ur notebook to xotipc.com for a full mobo workup and maybe replacement to support 8800m GTX!!
they also add revised cooling for customers with Sager NP5791/2 for use with Core2Extreme X9000 and 8800m GTX!!

Such upgrade programs are offered by Sager through xoticpc.com!!

Yea! ditto happened to me!
Took it along to a lan party and everyone there had alienwares and Asus and they were like "what is that"!!!

ultimately, my fps pawnt even the alienwares(old ones with 8700m GT) and they were like wha!!!

Thanks man! I went for this custom laptop because of upgradeability! which is ultra rare in other manufacturers like Dell, HP etc. (as in most of em have their GPUs soldered onto the mobo!!!)

Hmmm!! negatives r rightly pointed out!
but i use it with a logitech notebook mouse and rarely use the touchpad!!
so, not a prob with me!!

again i rarely put it on my lap!

-----

btw this thing even has inbuilt fan control!!!

Fn+1 key puts the fan in full blast, making equivalent noise as my desktop CM690!!!
Fn+2 moderate speed
Fn+1 again puts the fans in auto mode!! then it runs silent enough!!

Hey, be glad you loaded a lot of money into your laptop.

I spent $1800 on an Alienware about 2.5 years ago. It still kicks ass in source games even with it's (now) puny 6600GT mobile.

Man! this thing is worth it!!
I have a 200GB 7200rpm SATA2- 300 drive!! It runs pretty fast for a laptop!!

But xoticpc.com also offers 320GB 5400 rpm option!! nd as far as i know both run nearly the same(as in speed and performance) + 5400rpm drives run a lot cooler than the 7200 ones!!

Under the influence of uber excitement while ordering i went for 7200rpm drive, never considering the temps it would reach!!

My HDD reaches about 58C on max load!!!! but since laptop 7200rpm drives are made to handle high temps it doesn't affect the life or performance of the drive!!
Also, the laptop surface remains rather cool instead of 58C on HDD!!

U can find more info on the drive to choose here!! - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=250518

I got WUXGA screen(1920x1200)!! Definitely worth it as i play a lotta games on it on native res due to the power of 8800m GTX!! + also some full HD movies!!!

btw u can browse through the "Sager and Clevo" section in the above link!!
it pretty much has answers to all the questions that'll ever pop up!!
============

I'd recommend dont buy just now! as Intel's Montevina platform is releasing this June!!

It is based on the newer Centrino 2 class processor and chipset!! Clevo will release the same chassis as mine(M570RU-U) with some modifications and it'll be named M570TU!!

More info - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235531

More about Centrino 2 (Montevina) Must read!!- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrino(scroll down to "montevina platform" here)

In the above notebookreview link as u can see the 2nd poster is actually the owner of Xoticpc.com!!! Justin Nolte himself!!

so u can become a member here nd can PM him for additional info etc! i sure did that! nd he's really prompt to reply!! U can also find a lotta notebook retailers here!! Its a notebook heaven!!

Its definitely worth it! highly recommended!! btw Xoticpc's aftersales service is just AWESOME!!! Prices r awesome too!! + future upgradeability!
