Better to just invest in a fan controller, the S-Flex fans are pretty much as quiet as the Noctua at the same speed, at least from a distance greater than a half meter inside a case. If you were looking for new fans because you didn't have anything good it would be worth the investment, but over the S-Flex fans, it's just not worth it.

That is very strange. Recently I went to Micro Center and I opened one of the Noctua HSF boxes to see what it really looked liked and I saw that the whole enter base and pipes were all made of pure copper, but in these pictures they seem to be some type of aluminum?

The heatpipes and base are just nickel-plated copper. Not sure what you were seeing at Micro Center though.

OUCH! - £42... That's $84!

I hate this country.

Philosophid, that's a Blood Iron right there yeah? Am I right in assuming that they have the same NB heatsink as the new P35 DK boards?

If so, i think i know where my next chunk of PC related cash is going!

You were looking at the old verison of this cooler, the NH-U12F.
http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/noctu...r-p-16583.html
It's not as tall as this new cooler, and comes with a different fan,
that doesn't have the same DB/CFM ratio. I have the U12P

Yeah. I wouldn't recommend the U12F at all. It uses Noctua's older style fan which doesn't have very good pressure.

SOOOOOO

I get about a 1 degree temp drop in core temp now that im using AS5. that's good, and AS5 supposedly has a burn in time, so hopefully i'll see a 2-3 degree more drop :]. 3.2 ghz stable, constant use, 42 load, not bad. i think this cooler is doing a fine job for how quiet it is.

Sorry! Yes it is the DFI Blood iron board, the P35-TR2L or w/e. It overclocks like a beast, super cheap, gets the job done if you're not going to be SLi'ing [not many people do, anyways]. some people can get up to 545 FSB, i can do about 400 @ 1.38 and 366 @ stock volts. very awesome board for its price, and has a few more tweaks overthe gigabyte [which is like 5 $ cheaper]

I'd be interested to see what the temps are with some OCZ Freeze.
