Mobo not turning on?

Yo,

I have a MSI KT9V, thats a Socket A(462), that won't turn on. Here is the DL.

I don't have the standard PSU, I have a 20 Pin ATX PSU for this thing. I have the 4 pin adapter for the CPU and finally it's only 250 Watts.

With everything connected to the computer, nothing happens when the power switch is hit. The PSU clicks and nothing happens. If I disconnect the 4 pin CPU connector and hit the power the fans spin, but the MSI D-Connector says of course CPU failure.

Is this a case of a weak PSU? This PSU already powers the exact CPU/Video/HDD on another board, I'm just trying to update things.

Next step?

Well, if you take components off this board and put them on another board, and it fires up on that one and not on this one, then it sounds more to me like a dead board...

It could be a weak PSU as 250w is really low. When socket A first came out it was recommended to use 300w min with these systems, so if you have a stronger psu I would try that. If it does the same thing then you can be sure its the board, if everthing else works on another board like you said.

Keith, do you happen to have another spare PSU that you could test with to confirm this? Wattage wise 250w is fine. I've tested my sig rig with a Fortron 300watt which was more than enough. What brand/model is the PSU?

Good luck
