Swiftech H20-220-APEX-GT vs Swiftech H20-220 Compact

Well i have developed the urge to go water over the summer, this being my first experience with water ive narrowed it down to these to Swiftech kits

H20-220-APEX-GT

and

H20-220 Compact

im also going to buy a new case to mount it in
aerocool zerodegree
which i will cut a hole for a rad on the top.

My information gathered from this is that the compact would be an easy kit(pump on the block, res in rad), but hard to expand on later, the Apex GT has a separate res and pump from the rad and block, but is 60 dollars more.

i don't plan on adding GPU to the loop, maybe a rad in the front later if CPUs become more toasty.
any opinions on the two...?

Stay away from the kits that have the pump/block or res/rad combos. You definitely don't wanna go that route. I wouldn't recommend any kits myself but of the two you mentioned, the first one is a solid kit.

Well that kit is probably the best kit you're gonna get for under $200. Personally I think spending any less on watercooling is a waste of your money as you probably won't get much better results than a high end air cooler. If you find some extra money, take a look at these kits. Probably the best kits around:

Best thing to do is hunt through the for sale section, and wanted section, and see who is selling water cooling stuff.

I got pretty much that Apex GT kit except with a Black ice Pro 360 radiator, plus an EK reservoir for ~$200 thanks to several purchases from those forums.

i had the h20 220 compact and the apex gt. currently using the apex gt.

Btw.. if you read a post from me a few days earlier.. my h20 220 compact's pump/waterblock cracked and water leaked all over my computer. it was less than 30 days when that happened.

Right now im using my h20 220 apex ultra. [dont have gpu waterblock installed]...
It was hard to install. but watercooling take patience.. Right now im running 37/35/31/31 on core 0 to 3.. [1.47volt] +1-2 Celcius more at 1.6 volt.

WIth my h20 220 compact. i remember my 1.6v.. [it's on my signiture]
