pc won't boot -> stupid n00b screwed up his OC

Well, it will boot after a few tries then run like nothing happened.

It happens like this:

1) press the on button > BIOS screen has artifacts

2) the next two black and white screens showing my PATA bus and checking IRQs goes on without a hitch

3) the windows boot logo has artifacts. It blinks on and off then freezes and I have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to shut it off.

4) repeat steps 1-3 about 2 or 3 times

5) turn it on again and BIOS screen has artifacts and next two screens go on without problems

6) I get the black and white screen where it asks me to choose between safe mode/last known good configuration/start windows normally

7) if I choose start windows normally I go back to step 1. If I choose last known good configuration, windows boots and everything works fine. Games run normally with no artifacting, etc.

I know there's a way to hack the registry(to make the last known config the current config), but I feel that's only a temporary solution. Is my graphics card screwed? Or is it my motherboard?

cpu: pentium dual core 2160 1.8GHz @ 2.2GHz FSB and RAM: 1000MHz
abit ix38 quadgt
gpu: evga nvidia 7950GT 256mb core:600MHz mem:735MHz stock speed is 550MHz/700MHz respectively

PS: I used rivatuner to overclock my graphics card

OK, thanks. I'll just get a new one. 8800 is cheap enough and I'll be able to resist overclocking....until fallout 3 comes out....

Why didn't you just revert your OC when you got into windows, instead of testing to see if the games would work fine again >.<
