I have to say I will believe it when I see it on the shelf and more than 3 ppl are running it that had to actually pay for it..

My question always is why would nvidia release this info? Its deff not good for sales of current cards... I mean its 2 times faster than the best out now(gx2), which is barely 6months old?

But I have to say if its as powerfull as they claim, im gettin one

My PNY's work great in SLI setup....... its gona suck if some single card comes out that beats it... right now the only single is a gx2 which really isnt a single.. and I keep up with it at least....

hope they arent friggin 400$ either..... thats like 800 for SLI??? and for what? Crysis? not worth it for 1 game....

This is physically impossible IMHO.
The 9800 GX2 has a TDP of 197 Watts, so with only 53 more watts worth of juice, they're doubling performance?

The jump from 65 to 55 nm isn't anywhere near that big.

I think it'll be more like the 8800 Ultra pricing. 800 per card. That plus the huge TDP = no thanks imo.

yea i know. With the economy going the way it is they can try to sell them for $200.00 and not many people will buy them..

IMO I think that the launching a new HIgh end card every month is getting Extremely old. If you think we want to pay $400.00 every month for 5-10% performance every month your wrong. Just launch a single card that can destroy crysis and move on.

1.5 faster then 9800 x2 seems more true i doubt its twice as fast though

So you believe the amount of heat produced is directly proportional? There is a lot of engineering that goes into redesigning the core. Many different factors will influence how that card performs, architecture, memory interface, memory amount, and drivers.

If you don't think that 1gig of memory with a 512bit interface wont double performance in crysis at 1920x1200 with AA and the SPs to back it up, I believe you are dead wrong.

Twice as fast is all relative. At some point you wont see progression at a given resolution from one card to another. I don't doubt, given certain circumstances, that the next gen from nVidia will give twice the performance of the GX2.
