Have you adjusted GTL voltages?

My E8400s liked a GTL of around 61% of vcore.

Tou lost me.. hehe.

What is GTL and can it have another name?

I've set fsb to 410 now, ram is on 1640, so i've set ram 0.1 higher than stock. And my vcore is 1.325 in bios 1.288 in cpu-z. GOnna try and se if game locks up. If it does i have to look into this GTL..

anything over 4ghz for me takes major chipset voltages. I have the option to unlink my ram so i can keep it stock all day even on 4.3ghz.
sorry for the double post but what stepping is yours??? should have any problems on your board. Also Id tell you my stepping but im not about to tear my water block off.

Gunning Transceiver Logic - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunning_Transceiver_Logic

It's a major component of Intel's FSB and the voltage it uses is normally linked to vcore.

65nm chips tend to run best at a CPU GTL voltage of ~67% of vcore, while 45nm chips tend to like less (61-63%). I have found that any setting besides 61% on the two E8400s I've own will seriously limit overclocking.

It might be called CPU voltage reference on your board, but I am not certain.

stepping tells everything about a CPU it has been averaged by many users. I heard it could be a pain to mount. But not as much as draining my wc to gte my block off.

IT WORKED!! Im so freaking happy

I set the FSB to 410
Vcore in Cpu-z = 1,288
Dram voltage=1.9
Cpu refrence set to 62% of bios vcore.

I've played 3 straight games in cod4 no freeze or lockup!

Thx a bunch!
