New card suggestion

Thread Starter
Greetings all! I am thinking of purchasing a sound card as my onboard doesnt cut it anymore with it not being able to play all 4 speakers in games (stupid dx10 stuff yada yada).

Now im down to 3 options:

Razar IAS Barracuda AC-1
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...tid=11&subcat=

Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...tid=11&subcat=

Asus Xonar D2X 7.1
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...tid=11&subcat=

I'm staying clear of creative as i don't like what i'm reading in regards to their driver support as of late.

I was leaning towards the Asus due to very positive reviews but hten i found out about the Auzentech which again i read some positive remarks.

Last in the bunch is the Razer. I have a tarantula and Lachesis and destructor mouse pad i thought it would be nice to have a complete razer pack The only gripe i have about the sound card is the output?... My speakers have mini jacks, and also for my HD TV so how do u plug them into that card o.O

Advise always appreciated

Out of the three, The Prelude closely followed by the Xonar in terms of sound quality.....But do keep in mind that the preludes drivers are only a bit better than creative! If drivers are a issue ud be better off with the Xonar....It is as good as the prelude but when it comes to gaming the prelude is way ahead!

No comments for the Razar....

Throw the HT Omega Claro Plus+ in the mix. IMO, the choice for a relatively high end sound card is currently between the Prelude and the Claro Plus+.

If you have Vista, get the Claro Plus+. If you have XP, get the Prelude. That's my opinion. I love my Claro.

And toss the Razer out. It doesn't stand up to any of these cards.
