My computer has meny problems YES

Well basically I have an Windows Vista Home Premium x64 OEM disc. OK and when I first got my new computer installed it EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECT but like all windows OS do after a while alot of trash software and files build up so I decided to format and restore the stuff i needed inseat of spenting vast amounts of time cleaning all the crap. So I did. The install disc is completely legitimite I have used it many times before. BUT THIS TIME WAS DIFFERNT. I now evperiance the following major issues.

1. Windows fails to install 80% ish of all its updates. It then gives me a bunch of Error codes like 80070004 ect. When i research them on the internet I find that they are completely irelative or they just dont exist. I tried downloading the SP1 standalone installer but that didnt work either.

2. Graphics issues. every so ofter my screen blacks out and then retunrs to normal giving a small message saying you video card driver had stopped responding and has recoverd sucsessfully. Im using forceware 175.x and i was using this version on my prevous installation. Also the iTunes album cover thingy is painfully slow when it used to run seemlessly on my old installation. I havnt tried and 3d apps or games yet.

3. My wireless now shows one bar of signal when it always showed 5/4 bars of signal on my old installation. (the router is only over the hallway and has not moved) Also I cant get anything with the word "windows live" in the title to run or install properly.

Please help I had none of this in my prevous installation. I dont think my install disc is currupt or it would say in mid installation. wouldent it ????

Things I have tried.
Reseting BIOS... Nothing
Reseating all PCI-E PCI cards.... Nothing
Backing everything up onto DVD's and memory sticks...... Just in case.

Apaert from those small issues yeh its all good am in a better frame of mind now though just nailed a english lit GCSE.. Wooooo aha please help i love you all.

i have had the windows update issue before on a fresh install. the only way i fixed it was just to reinstall and make sure to do everything properly on the new install. make sure you install the mb drivers first, video drivers, windows updates etc.

I would bet on it being the disc. But bad RAM can also cause these types of install errors. You could try running memtest until you get the other disc.

woud creating a backup ISO image of the disc damage it in anyways. I used magic ISO. Please note I used the origional disc not the backup. The backup it currantly sitting on a external HDD someware.

If it's been fine every time you built a system, but this time it isn't running properly after 5 attempts, I would look at your new disc first. Try to install without SP1 slipstreamed.

May be your DVD drive? - check cables - try a different molex - that sorta stuff.
I would try the new disc first.
Also memtest may need to be an option (its embedded in the vista bootloader anyway)
