my friend was saying that there is also the ability to custom build your ships if your are architecturally minded.. is this true? If so ive got some great ideas for some ships
Not true, You are limited to specific ship designs. But the possibilities for customizing their configurations are seemingly endless.

I got the 21-day trial via Steam and I never really got into it even though I only played for like what? An hour and a half.

I'm into space shizz myself, but it was too slow paced for me... Maybe the tutorials were just too slow geared. IDK, I'll try it again, and HOPEFULLY I can find some time to get out of my ship. :\\

First off, Sorry to burst your bubble, So far as I have gotten, I havent seen any Custom-built ships in EVE. Custom OUTFITTED, yes, but not architecturally unique.

i LOVED EVE Online.

Had to stop playing until I get my apartment.

Does it have the most intense battles in the world?

Not really...

Is it completely immersive that you are out for yourself in the middle of a vast, vast universe with hundred of people who would kill you on sight?

Yes.

Its really the kind of person YOU are. Im a huge Star Trek/Wars fan, and I fell in love with it dispite it's lack of Battle-intense goodness.

A compelling and fun game, imho.

One thing though - make sure that you play through ALL the tutorial missions.

I will go back to EVE when they sort out your avatar being able to leave the ship etc.

There is no getting out of your ship. Another big thing that turned me off of it. I love the whole pilot thing, but I want to get out and do stuff.

When you click this option, you get in your little escape pod. You never actually see a character model or anything for your character in the game.

Training new skills and stuff takes days to weeks for some

Veteran players in large corporations will destroy you.

Fighting against an entire player owned space station is not fun.
