New Laptop Decision

Thread Starter
So I have about $2K give or take a few hundred for a new laptop (mine is so old it won't run pong). I've been giving the Dell 1730's a look as I really would like a 17inch screen (higher the rest the better) but they seem to want to toss in Nvidia 6700 cards while this one Gateway® P-172X FX Edition comes out a little cheaper but has a much nicer video card in it. I do get another $120-150 off the Dell for a work discount but the Dell still comes out higher for the same stuff. Am I missing something ?
Thanks

Well you would be paying for the name too when you buy Dell. I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 (17") and could not be happier. True it was high in price than others but than again, the quality is excellent compared to others ex: HP, MSI, NEC, Toshiba, etc...
