Stable clocks for games and 3Dmark06

GPU Clock: 760 MHz
Memory: 1160 MHz
Shader: 1580 MHz

So not a big gain with the overclock, 467 is the difference from stock to overclock but i am happy with the card.
Updated. Thanks.

those temps were about the same as stock so hopefully i still have room to go

also im using 177.39 should i try the 177.41 drivers?
Updated. Thanks. Give 177.41 a try.

I'm getting my first 280 in a couple days, and have some requestions regarding the PhysX package: Is that something that is downloaded separately from the driver? Where do I get it? Is it necessary? Why and for what games/applications?

Hey Guys,

My system upgrade should be finished by mid next week, I'm going to overclock an ASUS GTX260 to the EVGA FTW speeds, I have additional VGA cooling fans being fitted and believe it or not (Gaz32 this may be a trick you can try lol's ) I have a portable Aircon unit in my gaming room / office with the vents directed straight at the fornt of my rig. LMAO ! it works.

so i'm just wondering what kind of temps you gtx 280 owners are getting.
Everything stock 40% fan speed (also stock) 615 / 1350 shader / 2214 memory temps are at 76 c while folding its usually not that hot after a 3d 06 run but its been folding for 20 or so hours now..(ambient temp is 22 set on the thermostat but its a few degrees hotter in here maybe 26-28)

when i crank the fan speed up 75+ % temps are usually in the 60s gaming etc

the highest overclock i have tried so far, with no problems 670 / 1500 shader /2300 memory and temps were 72 c @ 80% fan speed during 3dmark 06 scenes

that was yesterday on xp 64bit which was nice because riva tuner was working to oc on the beta drivers, i am now back to 64bit vista and 177.39 drivers

i read on the nvidia site max temps are over 100 degrees but i wouldn't wanna see anything like that.
what do you guys think, i have an empty hard drive cage in my antec 900 in the middle lined up with the video card and the airflow is pretty good i dont think there is anything else i can do to improve cooling.

It's too bad about step-ups not qualifying. I had to step-up based on the original MSRP of the 280. They should throw us some kind of bone.
