I just have a question... Is this product feasible or even workable in my CM690, I reckon my might have to mod the case, but it'll probs get 3 GTX280 under ambient lol. jokes

Link: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/hwlablicegtb7.html.

EDIT: Just figured out my case is 482mm deep and 524.5mm deep. Dam this is gonna need some crazy mod

Okay, I just saw where the new pricing will affect step-up customers whose cards did not ship by July 8:

LINK

***EDIT: I forgot to mention that I sent my card out on Monday using overnight FedEx so I could hopefully get my card back before the weekend. EVGA received it Tuesday and sent out my 280 the same day!!! Although I missed UPS yesterday, I should have my card tonight. EVGA turned around my step-up in literally six and a half hours. I am glad to be a loyal EVGA customer!

***EDIT #2: My 280 has arrived!!! LINK. Lion's Kingdom, you had better wait before adding me to the list. I expect to get some good overclocking out of this card, but I can't really do anything until the weekend. At least at idle, my card is running a cool 39(c). If that translates to a low load temperature, I should be having a fun, fun weekend! Stay tuned!

I called and complained to evga about this, they said they would pass my complaint onto mngmt, and I would get an email...he hinted that they would compensate me in some way.

Also has anyone tried the 177.66 beta drivers?

My Waterkeg has an MCR320 in it and it does fine cooling the 3 280s.

See my post above. EVGA is throwing a bone to step-ups too. 177.66 looks SO good, but I had some serious artifacts in Age of Conan. The WHQL drivers work. I heard great things about .66, especially that they were Unified Driver Architecture, but it turns out the WHQL drivers are too (even with out the .inf modification).

EVGA has quality service... but that service comes at a price.

What about if I get 3 of them with a heavily OCed quad-core all year-round? In Melbourne, it can top at over 40C . I had a look at a pic of the Waterkeg and would I get similar cooling if I made one myself seeing as I live in Australia and I doubt they would ship it here. And most of the parts in it I can get myself.

That is so dam cheap. The cheapest I can find is a Galaxy GTX 280 602/2200MHz for $AUS540... :swearing:

Is hardspell usually a reliable source?

The one positive I can (hopefully) take from this is that Nvidia haven't screwed up the naming conventions.

Any guess as to whether this will beat the 4870x2?

Thanks!

Rep passed around to people who have helped.

My ambient is 25, my cards are folding at 50, 45 and 50. I haven't gamed since I got the replacement in, but they were running low 60s earlier.
I would think that if your ambient is 15 degrees more than mine your load would be in the mid to high 70s. The cards max at 105. You should be fine.
