Yes. Use rivatuner for OC. Then use tool such as ATI tool to do artifact scanning... Watch out the laod temp especially under the stock cooling.

Adding to Linskingdoms' post, id say safe temp for these new Generation Nvidia cards is prolly still going to be under 80ºC, though i believe they will take 90+ without issue for short periods...

Riva-Tuner will let you increase the fan speed, id recommend running at LEAST 75% fan speed on that thing, the card is locked at about 40% normally

Hey guys,

I've read many many news reports with regards to Nvidia chip issues and overheating, so I was not really surprised when my 260 went pfft afew weeks back, its been five weeks now since handing it back to the store, funny thing when I walked in the guy there who knows me said "We wondered how long it would be before you brought it back, every 260 or 280 we have sold has overheated and there are a number of 9800 and 8800's coming back now".

Having read that Nvidia are replacing overheated units with the same units that have the faulty chips in them I'm seriously considering asking for a refund and going dare I say it for a 4870 knowing its going to run OK and not overheat.

I've been Nvidia since my days of FX5700, 6600GT, 7600GT but the Nvidia product is not looking very attractive right now and for the short term future either.

Do you guys have thoughts on this.

Regards
