Okay im on a budget..maybeee i could go BARELY above 100$ for a motherboard..i want a GOOD motherboard that wont crash..i dont want to really overclock as of right now..so could anyone pls help me out? I HATE my asus motherboard ive send it in for RMA 3 times and each time they told me it was the ram, so ive bought 3 different rams and it STILL fails..so im just gonna get a new ram...unless anyone knows what could be wrong..When i start on the computer the bios screen and everything through the bios takes FOREVER! i mean like 20 mins..and then i cant play any games cuz everything is like in SLOW MOTION..its weird and like everything sometimes just becomes slow motion..i tried different graphics cards and ram..and even cpu..on this board nothing so it HAS to be the board..but unless someone knows a way to fix it..pls help me to get a new good board for price range of up to 100 and thats like max^.^ I will be really thankfull to anyone who helps me

Have you tried a fresh install of the OS and/or driver reinstall? Sounds really weird and given you've switched almost every component out I'm inclined to say it is your mobo...

^If you don't mind open box, $77 shipped on that gigabyte P35 DS3L is a great deal. Just keep in mind that it has Intel's ICH9 SB and does not support raid.

Something must be wrong somewhere. My P5B deluxe is an awesome board. Have you tried a fresh OS install like has been mentioned? What RAM have you tried? Were they on the QVL?(Qualified Vendor List)

Yeah they have been! And installing fresh OS? no offence, but bios has NOTHING to do with the os..it gets to bios before it even sees the information on the hard drive so formating and installing fresh os wouldnt really help. And this is my 3rd asus motherboard i have been having problems with..i am NEVER going asus again. Oh and yeah ive tryed 3 different kinds of ram on the QVL..and each time they said it was the ram, but i still send it in for RMA..and bought new ram..and yeah..im tired of spending money on new ram, when i tested all the ram that i have out on my friends gygabite P35 and havent had a single problem with it on his system. So there is nothing wrong with the ram. And ive uesd OCZ platinums DDR2 800, G.Skill F1 DDR2 800, and right now using Ballistix Tracers DDR2 800.

The P35-DS3L is a nice board for the price. As long as you dont run sli or raid, that board is great. Newegg has replaced the original DS3L with the Dynamic Energy Saver model, which is more expensive. If you want this board, you can get them from other sites still. I just bought a new one from Ebay for $69.99+$9.99 shipping. I would highly suggest this board, i have 10 of my quads running on this board.

Basically it saves energy. Here is a brief description.

DES is similar to ASUS’ EPU or Energy Processing Unit, but it’s much more advanced and doesn’t rely on an IC circuit as it has been done by an improved motherboard design in combination with a new range of PWM controllers from Intersil. What this allows GIGABYTE to do is to switch on and off power phases on the motherboard on the fly as needed. As an example, in idle mode the motherboards with DES will run as a three phase board since there’s no real power load and the CPU doesn’t need much power. However, when you start a game, the DES will kick in and load up as many phases as needed, although this is dependent on the board you have so it can be anything between six and 12 phases.

It might not load up the full amount even when you’re playing a game, as the DES will sense how much power is needed and adjust how many phases should be switched on based on the load, and since very few games are using 100% of the CPU, maybe four or five are used, again depending on the board design. By using this kind of an approach you get a smoother transition than ASUS’ EPU which only switches between four and eight phases. In addition it allows for better efficiency per step, as it will only enable as many power phases as needed which means less power draw from idle to full CPU usage.

gibsonnova74,
have you had any problems with the DPC latency issues (spiking) on your GB boards that seem to be causing many problems such as skipping on audio/video etc...?

if your not going to SLI (sli mobos are well over $100) then the P35 is a must.
