I'm mainly a buyer on ebay, this is great news to me because my feedback rating has been ruined by a couple bad sellers.

Are they crazy? Thats it I ain't buying it from ebay ever again. the negative feedback are a clear indicator how notorious the supplier is.

I agree with this statement whole-heartedly. Which is why I, myself, am trying to find new methods of selling. Maybe one day I will be enough help to people on this site and can sell things on here...

In the meantime, I have a closet full of old computer parts and my wife keeps asking me when I'm going to get rid of it all.

Notice that positive was in quotes. I mean that if your solution is to leave positive feedback with a negative comment, then there is no way to tell how much feedback is negative if a person has a lot of feedback

yeah but anyone in their right mind, when purchasing valuables on ebay, especially things of a high value, should always read a persons feedback. if they start reading a lot of negative comments, marked positive or not, you can put two and two together.

still, i agree, this seems like a very drastic and perhaps damaging idea. i can sympathise with their reasons though, it makes sense. if a buyer pays right on time, emails promptly and does everything right, then his/her job is done and should therefore receive positive feedback. if the product is then either faulty, fake, or the seller's job is a total disaster, the buyer than should reserve the right to leave the negative feedback the seller deserves.

any decent buyer would obviously contact the seller first and try make amends before leaving feedback.

they are right, dishonest feedback would be left a lot of the time, for fear of received negative feedback in return, when reasons for negative feedback from buyer to seller are legitimate.

i think that its wrong for sellers to wait for feedback from buyers BEFORE leaving their own, just in case buyers leave negative.

I don't see whats so bad about this. Once a seller pays for the product he/she has filled his terms of agreement and isn't liable for anymore than that.

If they never pay, then ebay should knock them with a auto-negative feedback or something BUT if the person pays you why should you be able to send them a negative comment if they filled their terms of agreement ?
