How to keep CPU speed constant?

i'm just wondering how turn off this thing that keeps making my cpu speed down when it's not working as hard.
any one know?

It saves power. And it's not using that speed while idling, so why not have it do that?

It's also Speedstep just so you know.

you have to change those options in your bios. intel eist & c1e if i'm correct.

Turn off intel speedstep (CPU features tab) and c1e and enable the ratio/multiplier to set it at where you want.

As the other guys said its called SpeedStep and it is usually found in the "Advanced BIOS Options" in your BIOS
