umm let's remember that newegg is useless to me guys

i bought the corsair from amazon. end of that.

but a lil background info

ok so my warranty jus ran out so i took a look inside the power supply (an Ultra X2 550w) and noticed sum semi-bulbing JEE capacitors (apparently rated at 1200uF 200v 85c) and a possibly broken heatsink. would have to take the circuit board out the casing to b sure but i'm not doin that. also the fan bearing is problematic since the fan would not fake a full spin without raking the mesh underneath it.

I presume the psu died because of an initial fan failure causing overheating.

repairable? maybe...but i not bothering. i jus took this as an opportunity to further my knowledge.

would u even bother trying? some ppl say they do repairs but then charging nuff. my father's an ex-electrician so he could do it if need be but the costs to get replacement parts doesn't makei t worth it.
