CoD4 Multi - Card recommendation

Thread Starter
I wonder that is single 8800GT card enough for CoD4 multiplayer game at 1680x1050 resolution, 4xAA-16AF (in game) and all other settings extra. Will there be chopping much? 8800GT users, can you tell the minimum FPS values for Cod4?
Thank you.

Yup. One (1) 8800GT is all you need to max it out and still have very smooth and playable gameplay.

More than enough. Running it perfectly with a 9600GT at 50 fps.

What about minimum FPS values? Does its memory become a bottleneck in very heavy action maps? How about chopping?

2GB of RAM is a necessity for almost any game these days and CoD4 is no different. If you want a super smooth run though and you have Vista 64 bit, chuck 4GB in

CoD 4 is coded very very efficiently...you can run it max settings without having to break the bank on a new system....8800GT is fine...

8800GT's in SLI are extreme overkill in COD4, 200+ FPS at times, never below 60........ Still fun tho

IMO, SLI 8800gt's are more future proofing for upcoming games for me. if you have a SLI board, you can find a 8800 for 179$US good investment IMO

aside from crysass all games are maxed on my system w/1680x1050 or my new preference 1600x1200

If I were you I'd pay the little extra and get an 8800GTS G92...you will definitely max out CoD4 and most games in the near future...apart from any game from Crytek
