8800gt fps

Thread Starter
just bought a nu monitor, im currrently running 1680x1050 on my 8600gts and it freaks me out. cant play my games it runs in very low fps. im planning to buy a new GPU, maybe tommorow. im planning on a EVGA 8800gt SC for now cuz i still cant afford the G92 GTS. (maybe buy a EGVA 780i soon and upgrade to SLI). i badly need the card. and i have to buy it asap, i read bunch of review of this card and they said "it produces decent fps @ 1680x1050". i need to ask from a real user of this card on a 1680x1050 res. my question is can a GT produce playable fps (esp. on crysis, cod4) ?
thanks.

Definitely. For the money, 8800GT is FTW

an 8800GT 512 performs very well in COD4 @ 1680x1050, 2xAA, max AF, and high textures, avg. @ 90fps. Also I would recommend getting the vanilla card and OC it yourself instead of buying the SC version.

are you referring to 8800GT SLI? or a single card configuration. FYI: single GT for now and Sli for the next 2 months.

Thnx!

a single 8800gt 512 should be plenty. i run cod4 at 1280x1024 everything maxed even corpse count and its around 100fps.

I was talking about a single card, with SLI my fps stays at 125fps solid with the same settings.

get about 40fps in cod4 at 1680 with 2xAA and all settings maxxed and 30fps in crysis benchmark at that resolution on high.so the 8800gt should be enough.
