[NH] RV770 Cooler Scratches (Fan Sketches)

A kind source has provided us with some cooler scratches that shows the the overall layouts of the coolers of both the RV770Pro and RV770XT. Even if the cards are based on the same core, although clocked at different frequencies, they will have two very different coolers. RV770Pro will have a much smaller single-slot cooler, which also exhibits AMD's intentions of it being the more modest of the two. RV770XT will have a much larger cooler, which will make more room for overclocking.
Looks pretty much the same as the previous rv670 generation with the dual slot being the XT (x870) and the single slot being the PRO (x850) cards

Only difference I noticed was the XT has a slight indentation and isn't a rectangular edge on the left side

I don't know, I'm just putting in some insight.

Perhaps the blower fans push air outwards (on an angle) more efficiently than a regular shaped fan?

So we change crappy stock cooling, and make the warrenty invalid

Blowers move large amounts of air more efficiently. That's why blowers are used in home furnaces, heat pumps, and AC's. Sure they are noisy but they work better than regular fans.

Seems like the only way to move air in such a confined space would be a blower....

Yeah, but for a PC environment, where things are much smaller, the increased noise is ridiculous. Nearly all high end after market cooling solutions that use conventional cooling schemes are more efficient, and silent. They could still use the exhaust design if they like it so much, but put on a conventional fan on the thing (like the older Arctic Cooling coolers used).

They use them because... would you want a 80 or 120 milimeter wide cooler? thats about 5 slots btw. Have fun with your 5 slot graphic card.

Wanna use much smaller fans? 40 milimetesr? sure. have fun having a little screaming fan so that it pushes somewhere near the amout of air a blower does with the same wight.

They push more air for the height they have. Sure they are "long" but because of their flatness, they can keep sound noise down, only have to use 2 slots max so that computers are not extremely huge and yet still push the same amount of air therefore being as efficient to cool the graphic card.
