Which OS

Thread Starter
I am going to be building a new gaming computer here very soon.

I am having trouble picking which OS to buy. I was debating between Windows XP Professional 64-bit, or Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

I do know I want a 64-bit operating system. Can you guys please help me on picking an OS? Thanks.

Yes, Vista is nowhere near as bad as the media makes it out to seem. I've been using Vista Ultimate for ~4 months now, and I love it.

If you really need all the extra features then Vista Ultimate is the way to go, however the 64bit version of Vista Home Premium is also a good option, go to microsofts site, they have a good vista type comparison chart

I agree with everyone else, Vista Ultimate X64 is great. I have not had any problems with it. Someone is selling it here for 160.00.

Sounds good. I have heard mix reviews from people about Windows Vista. But seems like you all like it, so I guess right now Windows Vista 64-bit is my top choice but I will still do some more research.

I might go with home, because I am not sure if I really need all the features of Ultimate.
