Someone help me, my math is off today.

I'm just trying to figure out the conversion between amps and watts as I'm trying ot see how each of my fan controller channels can take. It says they can take 20watts each. If I have a fan running .41 amps at 12 volts, that's 4.92 watts correct? Does that mean I can run 4 fans on one channel?

Yes. Watts = Volts x Amps or P=VI

I would leave yourself a little wiggle room however because you don't want to cause a fire because there is a 10-15% tolerance or something. I would run 3 of those fans in your situation. But that part is just a suggestion.

Yes, but that would be pushing it. Startup/peak power can be hihger.

I would not put more than three of those fans on the 20w controler.

Yea that's exactly what I'm looking to do because I have a 360 Radiator.

So they get somewhat undervolted at some point. I wouldn't get that close with most components, but fans should be okay. If they don't get full juice for a moment or two they'll just run slower for those moments

LOL I had my exam on that today!

W=IU
G=UI
R=U/I
I=R/U

G=1/R R=1/G

So a 1A fan will use 12W, 0,10A will take 1.2W, etc.
